Shelton FFA contingent makes most of state convention

The Shelton girls and boys track and field teams were back in action on Thursday, April 18, as they made the short trek down Highway 30 for the Gibbon Invitational.
Both the Centura boys and girls track and field teams finished the Gibbon Invitational on Thursday, April 18, in second place among the seven team fields. The Centurions scored 76 team points behind first place St. Paul with 152.50 points and the Lady Centurions chalked up 102 points, second only to first place St. Paul’s 142 points.
“Another blustery day,” Shelton head track and field coach Matt Walter began in describing the day at the Shelton Invitational held on Thursday, April 11. The Lady Bulldogs finished in third place out of nine teams with 63 team points while the boys placed fifth out of the ten boys teams competing. Elm Creek won the girls side of the invitational with 185 points and Wood River took first place in the boys side with 116 points.
The schedule for the Wood River boys and girls track and field teams last week included a “make up” meet in the Aurora Invitational on Monday, April 8, and the nearby Shelton Invitational on Thursday, April 11. The Aurora meet was rescheduled from March 22.
